Terms
Last updated 3 November 2026
These terms cover the Satchel app for macOS, its browser extension and this website. Satchel is made by Bilal Meddah ("we"). Questions go to satchel@echospace.dev.
Buying
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase.
The trial
You can use Satchel free for 7 days. After that, Satchel only lets you enter a licence key or export your items, so your data is never locked in.
Your licence
- A licence costs €23, paid once. Where sales tax or VAT applies, it is added at checkout.
- It is for you, on all the Macs you use yourself. It includes every version released in the year after you buy. Versions released in that year keep working after it ends.
- Please don't share your key, resell it or publish it.
- The source code is public so it can be checked. Its copyright stays with Bilal Meddah; seeing the code does not grant a licence to use or redistribute it.
Refunds
Purchases are final: try Satchel free for 7 days before you buy. The refunds page explains what happens if something goes wrong, and the rights the law gives you.
Your vault is yours
Your items are encrypted on your Mac with a key only you can unlock. We cannot reset your master password or recover a vault without it. Keep your passphrase safe, and export or back up your vault regularly.
The browser extension
The extension is free. It only works with the Satchel app on the same Mac.
No warranty
Satchel is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it correct and secure, but we cannot promise it is free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for your licence. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. The terms in force when you bought apply to that purchase.
